About Us

So - who is the team? 

There’s me David, founder and principal of Up The Garden Path. A family man with an extraordinary wife, 3 fantastic children and 4 amazing grandchildren. In my mid 40s I decided I didn't want a blue chip management career anymore and chose to pursue my passion for gardens which then led me ... Up the Garden Path! 

I am a registered member of the Society of Garden Designers - the governing body in the UK and also registered with BALI, the British Association of Landscape Industries.  I am proud to have been the only Grand Designs Show Garden Designers in the UK. I have won medals at The Royal Show, RHS Tatton and at RHS Malvern. I am a mentor to garden designers, have lectured at BBC Gardeners World Live, Good Homes Show, Grand Designs, National Homebuilding & Renovating Show and to design students at Nottingham University.

I’m very fortunate to have the most professional team of like minded people around me to ensure our business stays in the forefront of garden design. There’s my wife, Pat, who has worked tirelessly in the background and has been my greatest supporter throughout the years. Then there’s Rachel. She’s enthusiastic, caring and so meticulous with everything she does. She’s organised and really is on top of our business.
