David, our founder and principal designer, embarked on this exciting journey after leaving a successful career in blue-chip management. With a deep love for gardens and a desire to create inspiring outdoor spaces, David founded Up the Garden Path in his mid-40s. He is a family man, supported by his extraordinary wife and their wonderful children and grandchildren. His commitment to garden design has earned him a place as a respected Fellow member of the Society of Garden Designers and a member of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

David's expertise has been recognised across the UK. He is proud to be the only Grand Designs Show Garden designer in the UK and has received prestigious awards, including medals at The Royal Show, RHS Tatton, and RHS Malvern. Beyond design, David shares his knowledge as a mentor and lecturer, inspiring future garden designers at events like BBC Gardeners' World Live and Nottingham University.

Behind every successful endeavour is a strong support system. Pat, David's wife, plays a crucial role in the company, managing essential operations with grace and dedication. Rachel, a key member of our team, is known for her meticulous attention to detail and caring approach.
